Certonal^® Solutions

Certonal® can be used as an anti-migration barrier to prevent lubricant materials migrating from critical wear components in gyroscopes, precision bearings, MEMS spindles and similar mechanical, critical wear devices.

The solvent is non-flammable, has low toxicity, and provides acceptable environmental properties for today’s demanding electronic applications. When applied to clean, moisture-free surfaces such as copper, aluminum, ceramic, steel, tin or glass, Certonal FC-742 dries to a thin transparent film with required in many diverse applications. Certonal FC-742 will form a clear, nearly invisible, uniform film that is insoluble in solvents such as heptane, toluene and water. These films can endure up to 175°C for prolonged periods and maintain good repellency.

Certonal® heat transfer fluids are a range of fluorinated fluids with exceptional thermal stability; dielectric properties and are essentially chemically inert. The primary differences in the fluids are in their boiling points and pour points. The absence of chlorine and hydrogen in the molecular structures of these fluids gives them a high degree of chemical inertness and good compatibility across a range of materials used in many industries. Certonal heat transfer fluids have greater stability than hydrocarbons or silicones over a wide range of temperatures from their low pour point upwards. The vapour of these fluids, as well as the liquid, has excellent dielectric properties and acts as an insulator with a dielectric strength of 40kV over a 2.5mm gap.

Certonal Fluids for precision Cleaning are versatile, non-flammable, high-performing solvents. Novec fluids can be used in either a mono-solvent or co-solvent cleaning process. They are used in vapour degreasing and ultrasonic cleaning systems, and offer excellent performance and low toxicity, along with a strong environmental profile. They present a safer, more cost-effective alternative to more harmful degreasing solvents such as trichloroethylene (Trike), perchloroethylene (PERC) and n-propyl bromide (nPB) – and balance industry requirements for performance, safety and environmental protection. Typical uses include precision engineering; de-fluxing; wax and grease removal.
